Zehra Chawla, O.D. has been working as an optometrist since 2004 upon graduating from the University of Houston School of Optometry where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors. She completed one externship at Sharpe Eye Associates in San Antonio where she focused on diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma treatment and the care of cataract patients, and another externship at Randolph Air Force Base Optometry Clinic where she focused on pre-and post-operative LASIK care.
Ken Kirkland, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry in 1985 from Southern College of Optometry and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Southern University in 1981. Dr. Kirkland is a Therapeutic Optometrist whose field of interest is contact lenses.
As a young man, Dr. Kirkland’s interest in optometry was inspired by numerous conversations with a neighbor who happened to be an optometrist. Through those conversations, Dr. Kirkland realized that optometry was the perfect profession in which he could give back to the community.
For Dr. Kirkland, the one-on-one conversations he can have with each patient is the most enjoyable aspect of his career in optometry. It allows him to develop a unique relationship with every patient who comes into his office while at the same time also gives him the opportunity to provide them with quality eyecare and service.
